style category descriptions

Traditional:

A well-established style with many historic examples for inspiration. The design will follow the established historical form, details, and embellishments for the style. There are many examples: such as Spanish colonial, Tuscan, French,  Cape dutch, Victorian, etc...

Transitional:

A mix of traditional and modern elements. A blend of old and new styles. These designs typically feature modern forms and elements with traditional structural forms typically without historical embellishments but with modern aesthetic in material selections and detailing throughout. Examples: Modern Farm Style, Mediterranean designs without the traditional trim and embellishments but with modern finishes and detailing.

Modern:

Flat roof design with a mix of volumes, voids, and linear elements. Often features a unique exterior finish element such as marble, metal panels, or architectural concrete. Often includes the use of glass, steel, concrete and wood. Finishes generally fit within a natural color palate. 

Contemporary:

A unique bold design, unlimited in geometric form, might have curves, more complex shapes, bold materials and colors. Might have unusual proportions and features.
